Felipe Ortiz was born and raised in Colombia, spending the first 17 years of his life there. Seeking new opportunities, he moved to the United States at 17. Driven by a strong sense of duty and a desire to serve, Felipe joined the Marine Corps at 20. He was stationed in 29 Palms as a Motor Transport Operator attached to the 1st Tanks Battalion. During his service, he honed his leadership skills and developed a deep commitment to service. After completing four years of honorable service, Felipe transitioned to civilian life, bringing with him the discipline and values instilled by the military.

Recognizing the importance of education in achieving his career goals, Felipe enrolled at College of the Desert, where he earned an Associate of Arts degree in Political Science in 2022. His academic journey continued at Arizona State University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 2023. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in Political Psychology, also from Arizona State University, which he plans to complete by December 2024. His educational background has provided him with a solid foundation in political theory and practical knowledge, which he has applied in his professional career.

In May 2023, Felipe began working for Assemblymember Greg Wallis, where he has been able to leverage his academic background and military experience to contribute effectively to the Assemblymember’s team. His role involves engaging with constituents, assisting with legislative processes, and supporting various initiatives that benefit the community.

 Outside of his professional life, Felipe is passionate about staying active and enjoys a variety of physical activities. He is an avid soccer and tennis player, finding joy and camaraderie in these sports. Additionally, he is dedicated to maintaining his physical fitness through regular workouts, which also serve as a way to manage stress and stay disciplined.

Felipe Ortiz is not only a dedicated public servant but also a well-rounded individual who values education, physical fitness, and community engagement. His journey from Colombia to the United States, his service in the Marine Corps, and his academic and professional achievements reflect his unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in his community.
