Doug Walker
Doug Walker was appointed as a Trustee by the City of Palm Desert in 2007 and has enjoyed the opportunity and privilege of serving Coachella Valley residents since that time. He is a Professor Emeritus and retired Dean of Applied Sciences at College of the Desert, where he served as a faculty member for 34 years.
An M.S. in Entomology was earned at the University of California, Davis. For 9 years, he served as the California Community College Chancellor’s Office Representative on the State Pest Control Advisor (PCA) Committee. Also, he maintained a California PCA License for more than 40 years.
As a native Californian, Doug grew up on a farm near Arvin and has resided in Palm Desert since 1971. This is where he and his wife raised their two children and are now enjoying retirement and grandchildren. Locally, he served 25 years as a Board Member at the Living Desert and was an active member of a local Rotary Club for 35 years.
