Benjamin “Ben” is a lifelong resident of Indio and a dedicated public servant with over 40 years of experience serving his community. He began his career with the Indio Police Department in 1984 where he worked until retiring as Police Administrative Officer in 2024. In 2018, he was appointed to the Coachella Valley Mosquito & Vector Control District Board of Trustees as the City of Indio’s representative on the regional board. Benjamin was elected to Indio City Council in 2024 to represent District 5.

Ben’s family has been part of the Coachella Valley since 1919, contributing to the region’s agricultural legacy for over 70 years. He is a founding board member of Coachella Valley Volunteers in Medicine and an active member of the Rotary Club of Indio, Coachella Valley History Museum, and the Desert Recreation Foundation. Ben has also been involved in youth programs through the Coachella Valley Community Trust and the Boy Scouts of America for nearly 50 years.
